RidgeLine,
Inc. warrants the Pro Ears series hearing protectors against defects
in manufacturing or materials for a period of FIVE years from
the date of purchase. Items covered include circuit board, microphone
and potentiometer. To be valid, Warranty card must be filled
out and sent to RidgeLine, Inc. with a copy of a dated sales receipt
within thirty (30) days of purchase. Should you forget to
send in the Warranty card and proof of purchase, you will be required
to show proof of purchase prior to any warranty repair. We recommend
that you do this now while you have your receipt.
For the first
three (3) months from date of purchase, RidgeLine will repair
or replace the unit or defective part at no charge. For the remaining
warranty period you will be required to return the item with $29.95
check or money order for handling, processing, packaging, shipping
& labor. There may be additional charges for non-warranted
items. Please include a copy of your dated sales receipt showing
the dealer's name, product and purchase price. We will either
repair or replace the item and will then return postpaid. This
Warranty is limited to the original purchaser only and does not
cover: headband, ear cups, ear cup grommets, sealing rings, microphone
covers, foam battery covers, volume control knobs, batteries,
battery terminals, corrosion damage caused by dead or weak batteries,
damage caused by dropping, water, normal wear, intentional or
unintentional damage, loss or breakage caused by abuse, misuse
or accident. RidgeLine, Inc. is not responsible for any indirect
or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to
use its product.
For service
under this Warranty, you must first call for an RMA (Return Merchandise
Authorization) number. Explain to the Customer Service Representative
exactly what the symptoms are. We may be able to correct the problem
over the phone without a return.
If it is necessary,
return the defective unit postpaid, with the RMA number on
the outside of the box. In most cases, the product will be
repaired or replaced and shipped back to you within five working
days. The entire unit, including batteries, must be returned
for proper evaluation. All Pro Ears electronic protectors require
N size 1.5 volt batteries. Using any other size voids this warranty.
Do not return only the non-functioning part. While this Warranty
gives you specific legal rights, you may also have other rights,
which vary from state to state.
NOTE: Soft
Foam Sealing Rings and Inner Foam components are designed for
maximum comfort and efficiency. Due to this highly specialized
material, they require greater care. It is recommended that these
items be replaced every 6 to 15 months depending on use and climate.
These items are available in our Maintenance Replacement Kit and
may be purchased at your local PRO EARS retailer, or call: 1-800-891-3660.

PRO EARS are
worn by professionals and non-professionals around the world that
want to protect their hearing. PRO Ears are worn also by more
champion professional shooters than all other makes. Police departments,
S.W.A.T. teams and Special Operations Units of the United States
Armed Forces and more industry-oriented users have all made PRO
EARS their choice.
In addition
to the many who have chosen PRO EARS for hearing protection, are
a growing number of people who have the need or desire to extend
their range and/or the quality of hearing. There are also thousands
who want to enhance their hearing impaired due to age, disease
or damage from exposure to extremely loud noise such as machinery,
assembly lines, engines, etc.
How
do I use my new PRO EARS?
A) All
PRO EARS electronic models are equipped with four 'N' size 1.5
volt batteries, two for each cup. These are superior batteries
that are generally available wherever batteries are sold. Alkaline
batteries will provide the best service. To install, turn the
volume controls to the OFF position. Carefully pull the inner
surface foam down to reveal the battery holder. Place the batteries
into the holder with the negative to negative and the positive
to the positive. The correct polarity is marked inside the battery
box. The spring end of the battery box is the negative end. Once
installed, carefully replace the foam. Even though your PRO EARS
have the longest battery life in the industry, it is recommended
that the volume controls be turned to the off position when not
in use.
B)
The headband may be adjusted to ensure the cups fit correctly
and comfortably around the ears by sliding the headband apart.
Place the headband directly in the middle of the head with the
cups over the ears. Place the thumb of each hand against the ear
cups and press gently upward while simultaneously using your fingers
to tighten the headband against the head firmly. The special,
replaceable foam Sealing Rings are made for maximum contour and
noise, and will fit snugly around the ears even when wearing eyeglasses.
C)
To adjust the volume, start with the units in the OFF position.
Turn on and adjust the volume as needed for comfort. Both sides
should be adjusted depending upon individual hearing and purpose.
| IMPORTANT:
Your
PRO EARS have a high gain volume control and high quality,
omni directional microphones. These units are designed for
law enforcement and tactical teams that must have the ability
to hear extremely low noises (whispers or low volume speech)
at longer distances.
For
normal use it is recommended that you set each volume control
in the mid range.
Each
volume control may be adjusted to allow proper hearing for
a specific distance. If a person is 30 to 50 yards away,
adjust the volume control upwards to enable you to hear
this person clearly. The volume control may be lowered when
the person is speaking to you at closer distances.
